Likya Diving Center was founded in 1985 and it is one of the oldest diving schools in Kas. We teach in englisch, german and turkish and deliver our certificates according to CMAS, PADI and SSI settlements. Our high safety precautions and medical care by our leaders Dr. med. Murat Yildirim together with Bülent Gündüz in dive center are our strength. Murat is not only a dive instructor, but is also a swiss educated physician (specialist in anesthesiology and emergency medicine, and has also certificate "Medical Examiner of Divers"). We are a small diving school with a very good infrastructure. Our dive center is right next to the Mediterranean coast, only 2 minutes apart from Kas harbour and city center. The same called hotel "Likya" is also a part of us and is one of the best diving hotels here in Kas with simple, clean and air-conditioned rooms. After diving we meet up at the panoramic rooftop bar of the Likya hotel for some drinks
Kas has some of the best dive sites in the eastern Mediterranean. You can see great reefs, steep walls (drop off), caves, amphora fields and wrecks. We have all various kinds of marine life: Groupers trigger fishes, barracudas, octopus, turtles and seals. It has also an impressive underwaterscenery. The water is very clear and is very good for underwater video and photography! We have no nearby marine industry or deep sea fishing.  All dive sites are between 10 and 70 minutes sail from the harbor. We start every day at 09:00 from our dive boats "Koerfez" and "Likya" opposite Kas harbors lighthouse; the afternoon dive starts at 3:00 p.m. We also organize full day trips, night dives and diving for kids (minimum 8 years). We have a very high safety-medical precautions also at our Boat. Most of the time our diving instructor and physician Dr. med. M. Yildirim is also there with advanced aid-kit during our dive trips. You don't have to carry your gear - it's brought to the boats by pickup truck and stays at our supervised boat during your holiday.Snorkelers and swimmers are welcome on board as well!
Minimum age is 14 years and / or you must have at least one international recognized diving certificate. You DO NOT have to bring your medical examination papers, because we can deliver medical dive examinations "fit to dive" to our dive guests for free (possible only with 10 or more dives and by dive courses. You need also direct booking for this). In case you have a severe disease, we advice you to do this medical examination at your home, or you can bring us your EKG- and / or lungtests (spirometry). We need a special permission from parents if diver is under 14 Years. Minimum age is at least 8 Years for "Discover Scuba" dives.
Safety Guidelines:
Safety first at Likya Dive Center! We have our own rules at our divingbase and these are identical with most of the Diving Federation rules. Our dives are depending upon diver's qualification level, but we do not go deeper than 42 meters (about 130 feet) also with our experienced Divers. We make no-decompression dives. We plan the dive, and we dive the plan. We make a safety stop after each dive. But our dive instructor and physician is at boat or at divingbase in case an emergency situation. But we say prevention instead of treatment! Our divers protect the underwater world. Our dive instructor will inform you about the further rules at our base.
