Kas
is our secret tip is for people who want to spend a vacation in a fascinating
landscape and with its quiet friendly population.
Your trip from the airport provides the first impression of this ancient
landscape. The antique Lykia, Fethiye to Olympos. Lykia has retained its
integrity, wild, original beauty. From airport Antalya (180 km), you drive at
the direction to Kemer and then further to Kas, Sea is at your left side at this
very impressive voyage. From airport Dalaman (150 km), you drive first to
Fethiye, then to Kas. This is also a beautiful road lets you travel through our
history during your voyage. For the entry to Turkey a
passport with an at least 6 months validity, is demanded.
Health, diving
physician ?
Kas has a hospital with german and english
speaking doctors. Dr.
med. Murat Yildirim (one of the owners of the diving center) is an eduacated
anesthesiologist (FHM) and emergency medicine (SGNOR-Switzerland). In addition
he completed special course in diving medicine and is owner of the certificate
"Medical examiner of divers". This makes it possible to offer free
examination of diving fitness. Concerning the first-aid kit, you should think of
plasters, antiseptic ointment, a salve against sunburn and insect bites and a
medicament against stomach trouble. If something was forgotten, no problem - the
pharmacies in Kas are well sorted. Many medicaments are important cheaper than
in Europe. For the cooler season we recommend warmer clothes aboard as well as a
hat or a headband after the diving to prevent colds and flu. In the spring a
medium dry dress is recommendable, from the beginning of July a Shorty is enough.
Weather
Kas has in the annual average 330 suns days.
The most beautiful holiday season is from middle of April till the beginning of
November. In the midsummer the temperature is about 35°C, at night it cool down
on approximately 20 ° to 22°C. In the spring and autumn the average
temperature is between 25 ° - 30°C. The water temperature in summer is
between 23 ° and 29°C.!!
Money
National currency is the Turkish lira. In
hotels and in the diving school traveler cheques, €, the US $ and English
pound are accepted. Major credit cards are accepted in a lot of shops and
restaurants. For a good exchange rate it is meaningful to exchange cash only
after the entry at the airport, at the post office or in a bank. In Kas there
are several cash dispensers where you can get money with an EC card or credit
card with PIN number.
Voltage
Turkey is supplied with 230 V of alternating
current 50 herzt. Plugs from europe can be used without any adapter.
Additional costs
The life in Kas is rather cheap: a complete
dinner is about 6 to 18 €. A big beer is about 2, - to 2,50 €. Deckchairs
and sunshades at the beach are for free!
